I went with a Motodiscovery Tour which entered Mexico at Nogales and exited via Tijuana. Trip included San Carlos, Alamos, El Fuerte, Copper Canyon, Topolabampo, overnight ferry ride to La Paz, Cabo, Loreto, Guerrero Negro, Catavina, and Ensenada. It felt like a rocket in comparison (and also due to the fact I haven't ridden lately). I ran into some cool characters from ADVrider heading in the opposite direction so I turned around and ran them down. Rode a ways with them and then just took a casual ride sliding down the sandy pavement near Cripple Creek. The roads were in pretty good shape other than sand and a few icy spots in shaded areas. The much anticipate plan to meet at the "It's A Grind" Coffee Shop and ride the 105 to Castle Rock was a bust . However, it was not a total loss. I had a great cup of coffee, read the Gazette and was thinking about leaving when in popped Kirk -- who had planned to ride but had a last minute change to a family commitment but wanted to stop by and have a cup a coffee. Spent Friday night in Lake George at our camper. Had intended to do some fly-fishing at Eleven Mile Canyon Saturday morning but the weather wasn't very desireable. Decided to ride right up to Breck.
