Breck, Boreas Pass - July 2008

Headed up to Breckenridge a day ahead of the family. Spent Friday night in Lake George at our camper. Had intended to do some fly-fishing at Eleven Mile Canyon Saturday morning but the weather wasn't very desireable. Decided to ride right up to Breck.
Sunday the weather was great and I headed out to find some local dirt roads. Heading North on 9 just as you come to bottom of Hoosier Pass is a road off to the left called Blue Lakes. About 1.5 miles back I ran into a young mountain goat. He seemed very tame and was really interested in the motorcycle. I parked it and sat there while he wandered around me. At the top is a beautiful reservoir. So nice I use the pics of this place as my wallpaper in my 'puter. Also up there is a whole herd of mountain goats. They too loved the bike and were extremely tame.
On the way home I took Boreas Pass. I expected it to be more challenging. It was basically a fairly well kept dirt road out of Breck' to 285 at Como. It was a nice ride though. I took my time, stopped at all the markers, sipped some coffee along the way, took a couple of ATV trails off the road, explored the Natl Forest Campround for future reference and spooked around Como for a bit.
